In light of more than three years of mainstream
media propaganda enabling, it should have
leaked out long before now that the occupier
of the White House is a closet
philanthropist. He and Mrs. Obama have
revealed on any number of occasions that Barack
dutifully reads 10 messages from suffering folks
like us each night
before he hits the hay. Oddly, until now, mention has
never been made of the
president's direct charitable contributions to
some of those who reach out to him. |

|
"Ten before bedtime!" |
Those of
us who have become attuned to the unique style of
transparency that Obama exemplifies are keenly aware
that any revelations
about such
heart-rending things as his purported random letter readings
are delivered during those times when he appears most self-absorbed.
It's a matter of record that talk of his close
connection with common folks coincidentally occurs whenever his
proclivity to waste time on purely selfish pastimes
(Obamacare, his golf
game, etc.)
becomes the predominant topic of the nation's daily
conversation.
At those times when questions
about his leadership and the timely handling of
crises
(debt and
spending, a major oil spill, the Iranian uprising, the
troop surge, home mortgage defaults, etc.)
reach
fever pitch is when we have been reminded by the
Obamas that at least 10 representatives of the
suffering masses get their letters read each and
every evening.
Now we
have learned that the Pen Pal-in-Chief is
occasionally so moved by one of the pathetic nightly
tales of woe that he sends a check to its writer
(a la John
Beresford Tipton).
|
 |
"On more than one occasion, the president has cut
personal checks to struggling Americans"
who have
written to him, according to a new book by
Washington Post reporter Eli Saslow about the
aforementioned 10 nightly letters. The
White House has declined to answer questions about
any aspects of the redistribution of the president's
wealth. |
|
"It's not
something I should advertise, but it has happened."
|
Obama is
to be commended for sharing his
wealth with
less-fortunate folks on more than one occasion
but it's odd, nonetheless, that we
have never heard directly from any of the recipients
of his largesse or read any stories about them.
It might make you scratch your head a little harder
if you examine his track record.
According to voluntarily-submitted
tax returns
the first couple is not exactly known for charitable giving.
Through 2002 their contributions never exceeded 1%
of their annual income and it has not exceeded 6%
since the couple's wealth increased rather dramatically
in more recent years. Then there's
George Hussein Onyango Obama
-- Barack's brother who lives on about a dollar a month in a hut
on the outskirts of Nairobi.
So
why, suddenly, must we be made to understand just how willing Obama is
to redistribute his
own wealth? His latest media
message attempts to do three things:
-
Portray the Republican House majority
in the most selfish, uncharitable light.
-
Portray himself as the exact opposite.
-
Justify that if others won't
"do it now"
he'll just have to
do it himself.
Stymied by
Congressional resistance to his $447 billion "jobs" package and
attempting to tap into the public's displeasure with
Congress, the benevolent dictator will propose actions
"that don't
require Congressional approval to help the economy," a
White House spokesman said.
"I'm here to say to the people of
Nevada, the people of Las Vegas: we can't wait for an
increasingly dysfunctional Congress to do its job. Where
they won't act, I will,"
Obama told a
gathering of homeowners in front of the home of a Las Vegas family he had visited to discuss aid for the devastated
local housing market.
How do you know
that your Dear Leader actually reads those 10 letters every
night? Well, he co-opted
the
"we can't wait for an
increasingly dysfunctional president"
line
from top-10 letters
that he has received. He's certainly read that
statement on more than one occasion.
