GUEST RANT!!  by Michael Dehart

Muslim cleric: "Flag of Islam will fly over White House."         click here to subscribe to the eddobloggo RSS feedRSS Feed

Radical Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary has stated on FOX News and other mainstream media outlets that he will stage a rally outside the White House in an attempt to bring Sharia Law to the US. Radical Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary (center in photo) has stated on FOX News and other mainstream media outlets that he will stage a rally outside the White House in an attempt to bring Sharia Law to the US. One needs only to look at Europe to see how Sharia tolerance has led to problems with terrorist funding, gun running and terrorist attacks across Europe by tolerated groups in France, England and Germany.

Sharia law is so fundamentally different from our own legal system that it is sadly laughable to think that this man has come to the United States to spout this garbage and that US Muslims will
“rise up” to support him.  For starters, many American Muslims are more secular; many have fled the very kind of autocratic theocracies that Sharia law supports to avoid religious dominance and repression.

At its most basic, Sharia is a belief that the Koran is the law and that morality is based only on the tenets of Islam. But we live in a nation in which church and state are separated for good reason. Law should never be defined by religion and religion should never be defined by law. While we are a predominantly Christian nation, people of all other religions are allowed to worship freely.  Nevertheless, we all follow the same laws regardless of our individual religious beliefs.

This cleric has made some very bold assumptions and accusations; among them…

  • "It would be easy for us to declare jihad in Britain and each one of us could become a time-bomb waiting to go off. But we are not people who betray."

  • "We do not integrate into Christianity. We will ensure that one day you will integrate into the Sharia Islamic law. Our eyes are on Downing Street."

  • "It may be by pure conversion that Britain will become an Islamic state. We may never need to conquer it from the outside."

  • “The event is a rally, a call for the Sharia, a call for the Muslims to rise up and establish the Islamic state in America.”

Britain, by its very nature and because of its former empire, had been very tolerant of Muslims, as was France which, at one time, had colonial possessions in North Africa. But having held the beast to their breast, England and France are finding out that the same people who are living in their countries, enjoying the freedoms that they offer, are in many cases living on public assistance doing nothing but preaching revolution.

Now, Choudary and others want to bring their particular brand of extremist Muslim views to the US, hoping to incite Muslims to "rise up".  I would call that a violation of US Law...
to be precise,
TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 115 > § 2385 § 2385 “Advocating Overthrow of Government" in which it is stated:

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or...

Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or...

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof.

By his admission, this Muslim cleric is attempting to incite a religious revolution.  Therefore, we need to bring charges in hopes that the result will be giving him an 8’x8’ concrete cell in the deepest darkest corner of the worst prison we can find. Let him sit there for about 40 years in isolation. Since he thrives on using the freedoms of western nations against them, let us remove those freedoms and see how long he lasts.

Call it profiling if you like, but we have a responsibility as Americans to insure that the way of life we have created and by which we live is not threatened by extremists who are jealous of the success and prosperity that we have achieved as a nation. The Obama administration needs to take some hard lessons about tolerance of and co-existence with this brand of Islam.

This cleric and his cohorts are proponents of the worst interpretation of the Koran -- the most vocal, most dangerous, most subversive element.  One only has to look at the Fort Hood massacre and the latest slaughter of Americans in Frankfort to see the results of their subversion.

If the fundy christians are ever successful in their campaign to weaken the separation of church and state in this country, you can thank them for making it easier for this cleric and his followers to get what they desire.

[Strong Christians = Strong Muslims?  The simple truth is that Christianity is in greater danger here and abroad than Islam. Additionally, lefty seculars side with Muslims over Christians despite Islam's far more "fundy" stance and despite their jihadist fringe. -ED]

The only thing standing between you and Islamic takeover is the "fundies" of the world.  Someday all the "fundies" of the world will step aside and let you have at it with the Islamics.  It will happen, so look for it coming and prepare.

There are very few people I sincerely despise enough to celebrate their painful, prolonged and justifiable deaths...but Anjem Choudary stays at the top of the list.

How can anyone listen to him speak and not understand that ...HE MEANS IT...? Fruitcakes world wide walking around in La-La land regarding Islam... Don't come running to me when the crap starts coming down. I've been warning people for over five years.

"But we live in a nation in which church and state are separated for good reason. Law should never be defined by religion and religion should never be defined by law."

Try explaining that to our own "Christian Tailiban" who think Christianity should define our law. There's no difference between the two groups.

[Did you hear about the Christian Taliban who burned his wife's nose off with acid? How about the 19 Christian Taliban who flew airliners into buildings -- I heard they screamed Jesus Akbar just before the crash? How about the Christian Army shrink who gunned down Muslim troops at a base in the USA? Then there was that Christian Taliban who drove his bomb-rigged SUV into Times Square. I didn't think you had heard about those extremists because the media spin always blames Muslim terrorists -- even though, as you point out, there's no difference between the two Talibans. -ED]

What never ceases to amaze me is the left's embracing of the Islamists. You would think, using the leftist brain, that Sharia law is antithetical to their stand on almost everything. I believe they are willing to ignore the vile nature of Sharia simply because the right believes in being tough on terror and the left sees this as a way to counter the right. Don't they realize if Sharia law were enacted here, they would be the first to be stoned? This is not a left/right issue, but a threat to all of Western civilization. We all need to counter this regardless of our political stance.

This was sent to me in an email...with a photo of what appeared to be President Obama taking his shoes off with others to begin an Islamic prayer...
Obama removes shoes for Muslim prayer...
- In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer."
- In 1988 President Reagan designated the First Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.
- In June 2007...candidate Barack Obama declared that the USA "Was no longer a Christian nation.
- This year Obama canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse of "not wanting to offend anyone"

BUT... on September 25, 2009 from 4 AM until 7 PM, a National Day of Prayer FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION was Held on Capitol Hill, Beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims in D.C. that day. HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS!  I guess it Doesn't matter if "Christians" Are offended by this event - we obviously don't count as "anyone" anymore.

The direction this country is headed in should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted, they should be annihilated...

Kudos for realizing that the Separation of Church and state is real, and insures that no "sharia law" will take root here.  Also I have to give you credit for recognizing that most Muslims here are secular, and thus are not going to "rise up" to support this nutty cleric.

That said, the tone of the blog seems to imply that there is a chance that they will, and that this nutjob actually has a snowball's chance in hades of accomplishing his goals. He doesn't, so there's really no need for any fearmongering.

With regards to Christianity being "in danger," I'd ask...in danger of what?  Becoming slightly less popular?  There are at last count slightly over 2 billion Christians in the world.  If half a billion suddenly decided to abandon their faith, Christianity would still be the number one religion in the world.

Here in America, Muslims make up less than one percent of the population.  The idea that American Christianity is somehow "in danger" from these people - who again are almost all secular and well-assimilated - is absurd in the extreme.  So there's a crazy cleric who says people will "rise up" to support his quest to fly the "flag of Islam" (Islam has a flag? Officially?) over the White House...big deal.  I'm willing to bet there are more people who think the "South will rise again," and support raising the Confederate Flag - the battle flag of an actual, treasonous rebellion - over government buildings.

[Let me remind you that even if it is only 1% of the One Percenters who commit terrorist acts from within the USA (9/11, Ft. Hood Massacre, Times Square wannabe bomber) Americans -- Christians and others -- are endangered. -ED]

Fear. Hate. Dissension. Intolerance. You will never be happy it seems until there a war that wipes humanity from the face of the earth. You just want to be one of the last ones to be wiped out? And we know what people you want to wipe out first. Who goes second? And who after that? "Fox news and other mainstream" media - don't think Fox news is considered mainstream. Do you ever, ever have a constructive thought? You might want to try it just for the novelty. What has any Muslim ever done to you? How many do you know personally?

[Other than murderous terrorists mentioned above I have nothing whatsoever against Muslims who want to live as Americans. As, a former long-time NYC resident I have probably known as many Muslims as you have. If you think that I (or my Guest Ranter) are being hateful or intolerant because we prefer to have our own US LAW remain as the law of the land, then I feel sorry for you. Furthermore, the cleric in question has advocated suicide bombings among other things. The simple truth is that it doesn't get more hateful and intolerant than that! Also, last time I checked, FoxNews led all other cable networks in viewership. I'd say that makes them pretty mainstream and more mainstream than, say, MSNBC (which, of course, lefties will never admit).-ED]

ElizabethI...I have worked in Kuwait and Iraq. I have traveled to the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain. My experience with the Middle East and Muslims obviously far outstrips yours. I would be surprised if you have even ever left the country. Except of course for that college spring break trip to Acapulco.

Mike Dehart

I don't know about anybody else, but I can tell you what the Muslims did to me.

Muslims murdered my cousin on 9/11. He was in the second tower. I guess more than what the Muslims did to me is what they did to his wife and the three children who were left behind.  I am answering your question; please spare me any BS sermon about other Muslims you personally know.

I think we are so concerned about creating an atmosphere of hate for the Muslims that we don't speak the truth about the threats of radicals that are among us. I don't have some sicko hatred of a religious group, I patronize Muslim businesses and show kindness to those I run into in daily life, my children have some Muslim friends. I understand some groups that call themselves Christian and do really terrible things exist. Westboro Baptist is a prime example. We as Christians, owe it to our faith to speak up and call wrong - wrong. I know that some Muslims have spoken bravely and done so, but their silence as a community is disheartening.

We Americans are a pathetic lot. We see islam and its sharia law taking root already. And what will we do about it? Probably nothing. Oh maybe somewhere down the road--when it's already much too late--a politician or two will take a cue from Cameron, Merkel and Sarkozy and mutter some equivocating line about failed multiculturalism. But nothing beyond that.

Why?  Because so many (including the current president) are so immersed in their own racial, religious, political and social agendas that "acting in the nation's best interest" is a foreign concept, "patriotism" is synonymous with bigotry and defending America's enemies is second nature. Because the fabricated "separation of church and state" gospel has so warped and smothered our concepts of good and evil and right and wrong that any attempt at making those distinctions is considered offensive and intolerant. Because America's righteousness, which, historically, has inspired Americans to protect and defend her even to death, has waned. Because political correctness will prevent the government from addressing islam and sharia law in any official, meaningful capacity.

The tea party surge gives some hope that ordinary citizens will step up to handle the matter themselves.
But it all depends on whether there are enough ordinary citizens still remaining whose love of country is greater than their fear of death.

Amen brother, they use our own laws against us. What many do not understand is there is a grand plan. This is why the Muslim population is exploding and while we now have 1.2 kids per family, they have 7. Eventually the numbers will win. These are scary times, and I am afraid my grandchildren will not see a country that is free. To not at least consider the possibility of these things is madness.
