   Defending the right to rant!

"I listen to some of y'all ..."                                                                            click here to subscribe to the eddobloggo RSS feedsubscribe via RSS

Barack Obama addressed the Congressional Black Caucus' annual awards dinner.Last year Barack Obama addressed the Congressional Black Caucus' annual awards dinner at which time he implored Blacks, his most unshakeable demographic base, to get out the vote in the midterm elections because Republicans were preparing to "turn back the clock."

Rep. Alan West (R-FL)What followed was a rout that Obama himself acknowledged to be a "shellacking."  Nonetheless, the ostensibly liberal CBC picked up a new member or two in the process.

Now, a year later and as ebonically as can be teleprompted, Obama told the same assemblage: "It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all...Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes.  Shake it off. Stop complainin'. Stop grumblin'. Stop cryin'. We are going to press on. We have work to do."

One can only wonder how many Black Caucus members later observed that their Dear Leader is not only the biggest complainer among them but that he is also the Black politician with the most "work to do" if their constituents' suffering is ever to be lessened.

If so, one can only wonder if Obama was within earshot or if anyone had the intestinal fortitude to get up in his face and make sure he understands who it is that needs to put away his bedroom slippers...or golf shoes, as the case may be.

Certainly each attendee wondered, perhaps out loud, whether he/she is among the "some of y'all"  that the would-be marcher claims to be listening to.

Herman Cain unexpectedly wins the Florida GOP straw poll.In any case, Obama awoke this morning to some unexpected good news.  It appears that multi-ethnic Floridians still like people of color and that they are more than willing to vote for them (even those so-called racist conservatives and Tea Partiers) in spite of the president's failings.

The bad news for Barack is that people are so sick of him and of Obama Lite (no racial pun intended) candidates that they're prepared to "turn back the clock" to an even earlier date -- a time that precedes not only the transition from the not-so-frugal Bush years to the hyper-spending era of Obamunism -- to a point in time much closer, on the political calendar, to USA Founders' Day.

Strange but true...

Then there's stuff like this that might never have been said in the absence of another Black presidential hopeful waiting in the wings . . .

Rep. Maxine Waters is famous for telling the Tea Party to "go straight to hell."WASHINGTON (AP) 9/26/11 -- Rep. Maxine Waters says she's not sure who President Barack Obama was talking to when he told black Americans to quit complaining and follow him into the battle for jobs and opportunity.

The California Democrat, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, says she found the president's language "a bit curious." She says Obama didn't address Hispanics in such a blunt manner and would never use that language in a speech to a gathering of gays or Jews.

Interviewed Monday on CBS' "Early Show," Waters said black Americans fully support Obama and are working to promote his agenda. She says African-Americans want voters to be enthusiastic about Obama in 2012.

In Saturday's fiery speech to the caucus, Obama told blacks to "put on your marching shoes" and "stop grumbling.'"

Never thought I'd get a quick answer to any of the questions asked in this rant -- not even a weak-kneed one that's fit for mainstream media TV.

Strange but true II...

One member of the cast of liberal characters about whom I have written disdainfully fairly often is the lefty senior senator from my own state, Chuck Schumer (D-NY).  In an odd postscript to my last rant An OnStar call replay you'll never hear on the radio. it seems that Schumer shares my feelings about OnStar's invasive potential. As they say in Brooklyn, go figure...

ALBANY, NY (AP) 9/25/11 -- The OnStar automobile communication service used by 6 million Americans maintains its two-way connection with a customer even after the service is discontinued, while reserving the right to sell data from that connection.

Chuck Schumer and eddobloggo agree about OnStar's threat to users' privacy.U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer of New York says that's a blatant invasion of privacy and is calling on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate. "OnStar is attempting one of the most brazen invasions of privacy in recent memory," said Schumer, a Democrat. "I urge OnStar to abandon."

Schumer announced the effort to force OnStar to "abandon" Sunday by releasing a letter to the Federal Trade Commission seeking an investigation...

Obama is like that guy who invites a lot of people to dinner at a fancy restaurant and midway through the final course realizes he has no way to pay for the banquet.

That realization was brought home to him last November, but now the guests are realizing the same thing -- he is all hat and no cattle, we still have the stage where the owner of the restaurant comes to the same conclusion and that signals the real crisis point which is yet to come.

This time the voters are going to demand something other than a dream of someone's father or the audacity of hope or anything other than real change- the myth that conservative Republicans will not vote for someone based solely on race is just that.. a leftist myth.

Mr. Cain is turning out to be a surprise for more than President Obama. The man makes sense. He has my attention.

Not only does Mr. Cain have your attention, Tdaigle, I believe he has the attention of the other candidates. In the coming weeks I think you will see a few try to usurp his rhetoric.

I like Herman Cain.

I think it would be great for the two candidates running in 2012 to be Black Americans....then Black Americans would 'really' have a choice and see how the 'pro-choice' people are targeting the poorest among us which happens to be the Hispanics and Black Americans. I have heard through the 'grapevine' that Planned Parenthood (leader in abortions/ and referrals) is located closely to alot of Hispanic and Black American neighborhoods purposely.

Herman Cain would get more pro-life voters amongst the Black Americans.......Because Black Americans (the majority I am told) would not feel like they are betraying their "people" by voting for a white President (EVEN if he is pro-life) when only one Black American is there for them to choose from.....and finally set them free.

Obama landed at Boeing Field in Seattle, WA on Sunday and promptly headed off for a fundraiser in Medina - thee most exclusive area where folks paid $38,500 per couple to attend. Keep in mind Clint Eastwood's daughter lives there and Lenny Wilkens showed as well as Bill Russell that introduced him. Obama promptly announced that the GOP vision of government would "fundamentally cripple America." As if his vision of America has saved us...

I would vote for him for sure, mostly because of his business acumen. Little seems to be published about him, but he is an amazing, self-made millionaire. Check him out!! He is SMART, and capable. The only thing that bothers me and makes me think he won't get the nom, is how he presents himself in speeches. I think the Reps have overlooked him because of that, but I also think Americans have had it with the slick B S'ers on BOTH sides. He could do it if the party got behind him. I think we are smarter now...hopefully.

According to the left's loony mouthpieces, white voters in the South hate black people and dont want one in the White House.

Oops.

Now, how about that apology we all know we'll never get?

The fact that Herman The Soul Burner won in FL is treated as a mere aberration by the national media, who is still fixated on Perry/et al.   I wonder why?

Hmmmm....?

[Those of us who regularly chide the MSM for being in the tank for bh0 are not surprised.  Perhaps you recall, RevBro, that it was none other than this renegade scribe who pulled your coat about Herman Cain some months ago?  It would be extremely interesting to see which way African-Americans would go in the event that Cain and Obama are the candidates. -ED]

I'd pay good money to watch a Cain Obama debate on the economy.

Herman Cain is an example of what the country needs, straight talk, a gaff now and then and realistic observations.

Maybe Americans need to send obama some pink fuzzy slippers?  Keep his little tootsies warm?

Chucky Schmucky Schumer does something right?  The world may be changing after all.
