"Defending the right to rant!"

Stinkin' up the joint. (originally published 9/25/09)                                                  RSS feed

What will it smell like after Obama addresses the UN today?  Will his praise choir of socialista dictators continue to enjoy the smell of what your Dear Leader is cooking or will they turn on him -- as most Americans have -- as I predicted they would a year ago?  We won't have to wait long to find out...

The last time they turned the microphone over to Hugo Chavez at the UN he opened with a slapstick routine about the room smelling of sulfur. George W. Bush had addressed the General Assembly earlier from the same podium, so Chavez' shtick drew big laughs from fellow America haters by his equating of the President of the United States with el diablo.

Obama and Khadafi shaking on a propaganda pact.Three years later: "It doesn't smell of sulfur here anymore.  It smells of something else. It smells of hope," the Venezuelan dictator told the UN on Wednesday.  Earlier, Libya's strongman Muammar Qaddafi had declared to the same gathering that "We'd be content and happy if Obama can stay president forever."

Speaking of staying as president forever, Qaddafi has held his position since 1969 while the relative novice, Chavez, has been Venezuela's top dog since 1998.  If Obama wants "re-election" advice, these guys and the similarly supportive Castro brothers, with 50 years of Marxist/socialist dictatorship under their belts, are just the crowd to be hanging with.

Of course, the American left is ecstatic over these dictators' acknowledgments of the hope and change they have found in their president.  On the same day as Obama's UN teleprompter drone-athon (perhaps daily professorial philosophical lectures are still a bit of a novelty to foreigners whose press coverage is, shall we say, a bit more limited than our own) a video of happy American school children singing their Dear Leader's praises hit YouTube.

The dictators' love raises the question: Had Qaddafi, Chavez and the Castros pronounced Obama so sweet-smelling a year ago in the final days of the campaign, would their glowing propaganda endorsements have helped or hurt the president on Election Day? If not, we're in far bigger trouble than anyone could ever imagine.

In any case, our nation's case of buyer's remorse is revealed in Obama's continuing decline in the polls and in the growing coalesced protest movement that has created more true neo-cons than the smug left ever imagined possible -- especially after such a resounding Conservative defeat not quite a year ago.

But it's not just right-wingers who see through the Obama hypocrisy.  The ultra-left is pretty upset about his limited prosecution of their anti-war, socialized medicine, gay rights and environmental agendas.

We're even hearing from the Gitmo prisoners that he pledged to support with American citizens' rights and the immediate closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.  Ahmed al-Darbi, a 34-year old Saudi who is charged with conspiracy and providing material support for terrorism, told the court in December that he hoped Obama would "earn back the legitimacy the United States has lost in the eyes of the world,"

In a note passed to his lawyer, al-Darbi now says that he is disappointed the Guantanamo prison remains open and the military court still holds hearings.  "I say to him now that he has gone astray," al-Darbi lamented.

So what does "hope" smell like?  No one really knows.  But oddly the stench of sulfur emanating from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was never reported by any of the aforementioned.

So what does "hope" smell like?  No one really knows.  But oddly the stench of sulfur emanating from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was never reported by any of the aforementioned.  Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, was overcome by the Holocaust denier's disgusting smell and he plainly said so. To their credit, dozens of delegates from most of the European nations, Canada, Australia and the United States got up and left during Ahmadinejad's speech, but the diplomats who remained applauded as the Iranian political leader continued his address.

Despite surprisingly strong subsequent statements by European leaders regarding Ahmadinejad's ramped-up nuclear development program, our own president apparently wants to stay sweet-smelling to those who matter least by remaining idealistically and unrealistically professorial, speaking about "the goal of a world without nuclear weapons" and of the legalistic breaking of rules and sanctions.

The next time they visit the UN, Qaddafi and Chavez could sing a little duet with some second-graders from New Jersey as their backup...

Barack Hussein Obama

He is so very clever

We would be content and happy if he were president forever

mmm, mmm, mm!

Barack Hussein Obama

He does it all so well

The UN has been cleared of Bush's sulfur smell

mmm, mmm, mm!

Then again, our enemies' song will probably be very different by then.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is now telling his subjects in Iran that Obama agrees with him about the U.S. being an evil country. Give me sulfur anytime...

...Obama is an appeaser. In 2007 Obama was commending the CIA for its assessment that Iran had likely abandoned its nuclear aspirations. He claimed the assessment was proof of Bush's deception. Now he waltzes into the UN with France and Britain, who's espionage apparatus claimed Iraq had WMD's, and claims credit for publicly exposing what should have already have been known and what no one finds surprising. He threatens more meaningless sanction and plans to talk and Ahmadinejad to use him. He's an appeaser and a pretender. He can't make up his mind because he's unprincipled. The Middle East will explode because of people like him. He's the Narcissist in Charge.

I know I feel a lot better that Chavez, Gadaffy, Castro, and Ahmadinejad think our President is a swell guy. We don't need Israel, Poland, Czech Republic and Honduras anyway. I've always found it is best to toast your enemies and dump on your friends. Isn't loyalty one of the seven deadly sins?

I agree, the reality of what our own President represents is as stinky as it gets. He prayed at the alter of a crown prince of the Hate America First crowd. He pushed socialist organizing at every turn. He pandered to radical anti-war wackos to the point that it has hurt our military. He bad-mouth much of the forceful actions taken by the military (of course just trying to screw George). But yes he must smell real good to Chavez and his Socialist Brethren as they must really appreciate his position in the flock. It is we the people and freedom who will get flocked in the end. Thanks for the post Ed, good stuff as usual.

Ahmadinejad, Castro, Chavez and Gadaffy are survivors, they didn't get to where they're supporting losers.

The two sides of Obama: Sweetness and aroma abroad with our enemies; Chicago-style thuggery at home with opponents of health care. How did it smell to Humana after it wrote to its customers advising of shortcomings in ObamaCare? Obama swiftly ordered insurers to cease and desist commenting to its customers. Well, it's only our Constitution. You have elected the enemy, folks.

I fear most fail to recognize that last year wasn't a conservative defeat, rather a republican defeat. I'm hoping next elections voters will recognize this bouncing back and forth is doing no one any good, and show it at the polls.

Of course I'm also hoping for the recognition that we're all in this together and when you live by the sword you die by the sword. I'm not holding my breath. Fighting is very profitable for the war industry and the religion industry, no matter what country you live in.

[It was a double defeat for Conservatives in that our default party not only lost to the Democrats but it hung its base out to dry by selecting the least conservative Republican candidate ever.  We're in it together, all right, but we need not to mix less important philosophical issues with the more serious ones until we can re-group to address all issues in the most Conservative way. -ED]

Along with smoke and mirrors there is the hall of mirrors and people are starting to wake up to the fact that Obama is a fake. He does not know what he is doing, people don't know which Obama is the real one and which is the hollow image. He is just a puppet that was put into office with the idea that he could turn the US into a Muslim country and at the same time make it a country governed by SOCIALISM. The only problem is NO BODY HAS ANY RESPECT for him.

Sulfur smells a lot better than manure. The obama legend is falling fast and the world will be a better place...

...nothing will happen to Iran unless Israel does something. They have taken lessons from North Korea and will be rewarded in the long run. obama has done nothing except lessen the ability of the USA and other rational countries to fight Iran and the other extremist governments like Venezuela and Cuba. Sad days for freedom because of a milktoast twit in the white house.

He will just talk about tearing down more borders. And appeasing more Muslims. I've seen him take his shoes off to pray with Muslims more often than I've seen him go to church.

Nice to have a President that other nations admire and respect. One of the main reasons they like about Obama, (besides the fact that he is intelligent, and can speak) is that they have less reason to fear that their nations will be invaded by American Armed Forces !!!

[Wait until it hits home that he won't be defending them against invasions by other nations either. Not that he'll be defending the USA much for that matter. "Other nations" like Venezuela, Libya and Cuba admire and respect him.  How nice! -ED]

Did you hear about Obama asking the Congress for $400,000 to give a grant to 2 Foundations run by Qaddafi's family?. How is that for a slap in the face to the families who lost loved ones in the Pan Am 103 bombing?

Obama's own words he states that "We can absorb another attack." Now how would that smell to the folks on the receiving end? In his (Obama's) mind, it is OK because he would just throw more money at it and use it to create more government bureaucracy and entitlements. But that is the mindset of a progressive socialist!

Just because two mad men said they like President Obama does not mean he likes them. Are you going to fall for the propaganda and lies from these two mad men. You are falling into their trap. I for one do not trust anything that chavez, qhadafi, Akman, say.

CLARKKENT

[Exactly my point. If you read to the end I say that their tunes will change by the next UN open house. But Obama appears to be their pals as a result of their propaganda efforts and he A) doesn't call it for what it is or B) wants their approval.   It's not good thing either way -- especially with him not putting any distance between himself and the brainwashed kiddies. -ED]

Every day obama makes me worry more. After our coup let's send him to Cuba to live.

Respect? No. Other world leaders don't respect Obama. They respected Bush (barely), but not Obama. Iran just came right out in the open with it's nuclear program and France's Sarkozy is telling us to step our game up. It's actually looking pretty bad for Obama foreign wise...

For all the rhetoric that Obama is SOOOO intelligent how come he doesn't see that the rest of the world is laughing at him? He is like the local snitch or tattle tale NO BODY respects him...

...We (you) the people, elected Obama the lawyer. He was raised by the government, and expects you to follow in his path. Congrats to him for making it, that is something to be truly proud of. However, hiring lawyers who have no experience leading, who have no military experience, and whose only strong point is public speaking are all contributors to the question you still seek an answer... We bought the bill of sales on this one, however a refund will be coming soon.

Funny how I've been reading that over 30% would rather have Bush back in office now.

I watched/listened ahmadinejad for a little while through his interpreter while at my office. If I didn't look up and see him on the TV screen, I could swear it was obama talking! Or any other America hating, anti-capitalist, anti-Israel, hate-monger, leftist in the United States or on TDS.

What's amazing to me is a relatively simple realization that at the time of the election, Obama bumper stickers were everywhere. Now, they are nowhere. Lot of work removing those bumper stickers. Especially since only a few can really afford to trade in their cars. My Tea Party bumper sticker is still there, however.

What should alarm most of you is the lack of trucks on our roads. I mean a serious lack, as in nonexistent. This is the best barometer of economy. Booming economy, freight moves--no economy, no freight. As a former truck driver, I notice these things. There are no trucks on the road, there is no freight moving anywhere, there is no economy right now. It's far worse than any media outlet would report, but it's all right there in front of your eyes, or not there, depending on your perspective, every time you get on the interstate. Everyone who would move freight, who would add to our economy, is waiting to see what happens in November. But to me, it's scary how little freight is being moved right now. Until the trucks move freight, we are in for a very hard time.

Of course, Obama would be loved by dictators throughout the world. He's a wannabe. But even the Soros Globalists can't appreciate the absolute power of the People of this country until faced with it, like they are now. And they are freaking out.

By the way, every so-called establishment republican candidate who lost in the primary and then goes on to run as an "independent" or "write-in" candidate is working for the Soros Globalists to advance the Progressive cause. They hope to siphon enough votes off from the candidate chosen by the People, the candidate free of their bonds, to allow the other Progressive candidate in the race, the Democrat, to win. This is one way to identify a progressive Soros Globalist Republican. Your first inclination is to say "what a selfish SOB." But the real truth runs deeper than that.

I will repeat this once more--elections are rigged in this country more by limiting the Peoples' choice of candidates than by any fraudulent registration of the dead. And BOTH PARTIES are EQUALLY GUILTY.

[Case in point: McRINO's non-attack campaign vs Obama. If "the maverick" had used even a few of the tamest potential talking points he was fed daily by Malkin, Beck, Hannity, et al we might not be in quite the mess we're in today. At least McRINO would have had a veto pen instead of a box of Montblancs. -ED]
