Could one perfect storm 'succeed' another?                                                RSS feed

Secret Service agents have nothing to laugh about guarding Obama. If thinking about the death or incapacitation of the president makes you squeamish click away from this page now.  Similarly, if talk of impeaching Obama or forcing his resignation is troubling to you, please consider yourself excused.

Loyal Democrats, especially, are expressing their concern that if and when the Big Wipeout occurs the new majority will go after Obama with a vengeance -- leading one to believe that even lefties are aware that impeachable offenses have been committed and that conviction would be a distinct possibility.

But to other than those of us with an extremely robust sense of justice, the prospect of elevating Obama's successor to the highest office in the land by any means or through any misfortune is not exactly what disgruntled conservatives have been fantasizing about.

Furthermore, if death, impeachment or resignation were to somehowNancy Pelosi will b heading out to pasture. simultaneously rid us of both Obama and Biden people would be calling Nancy Pelosi Madame President in accordance with the current line of succession. Roll those words around your mouth a few times and it  becomes abundantly obvious that, in the absence of a Republican Speaker of the House, the combined removal of Barry and Joe would be like jumping directly from the frying pan into the fire.

John Boehner would be president with Obama and Biden out of the picture. With a new speaker, however, the GOP majority could (if aided by a perfect storm) run the entire table.  They could have a Republican president along with one or both houses of Congress without having to wait until the 2012 elections -- kind of like the way Obamacare got "passed".

Is that too hypothetical and too far out there for you?  Well, did you ever, in your wildest dreams, believe (including you far-lefties who have chided your Dear Leader for not being Marxist-socialistic enough) that a perfect storm would enable...

  • 2500-page bills to be passed into law without anyone ever reading them.

  • The national debt to be tripled in less than six months.

  • The promise of transparency to be ignored by, among others, three dozen non-accountable czars concocting an agenda in the White House that is the antithesis of the beliefs and desires of all but the hard left.

  • A program encompassing nearly one quarter of our economy to get crammed down our throats in spite of nearly two-thirds of Americans' vehement opposition to it.

  • Unemployment to hover around 10% despite spending a trillion dollars to keep it below 8% while the federal government has grown by nearly 25%.

  • The administration to bring suit against one of the states for a law that was democratically passed by a large majority of its own citizens and which is supported by the vast majority of Americans.

Now that Bush-bashing has lost its cache to the extent that "anti-war" BHO voluntarily praised GWB's wartime sincerity and conduct during a recent press conference, can you understand how the demonizing of House Minority Leader John Boehner has evolved into an urgent, last-ditch (pun intended) effort to reverse the anti-Obama tide?

The winds of the Democrats' perfect storm in 2008 were, of course, fueled by any number of emergencies and those winds are blowing again as a result of expensive band-aid solutions and the creation of new, farther-reaching potential emergencies and catastrophes -- all part of the failure of the erstwhile superstar and his supporting cast of incompetents who would gladly continue their bobble-head support of Obama's agenda if only the Big Wipeout wasn't suddenly looming so large on the horizon.

Such factors have the potential to combine and create yet another perfect storm; this time for those who have steadfastly refused to be a party to the yes-ing of Obama's carelessness, arrogance and incompetence.

Speaking about death of both the President and Vice-President is beyond the pale and has crossed the line. Sick Sick Sick Politics has made you MAD. You are an embarrassment to even think you represent the right or anyone but your sick self.

...with the addition of a 3rd party - the Tea Drinkers, it is highly likely that the next President will be the one who is currently in office. Sarah has a huge ego and sees herself as that next President. She will gather-up around 15% of the vote and they will mostly come from the right side of the aisle. 3rd Party candidates generally do not come close to winning, but draw away enough votes that they change elections. The core of the elephantites have no idea what to do and have no leader. The Pachyderms in Congress are the least trusted of all aspects of government. In a recent poll the main line Pacyderm members were polled on who they thought the leader of the Party was and the top vote getter was Sarah at 6%. Idonotknow got the majority of the votes - I believe he is from Guam.lol Actually no laughing matter - that a small % of voters are now in control of the Republicans and do not represent the main stream Party - the sane main stream. May be conservative "to a fault", but they are not crazies and certainly not anarchists. Lombago you need to embark on a movement to return the control of the "right" to some form of sanity.

[Lefties are so stuck in the Hate Sarah Palin Ditch that they can't wrap their heads around the fact that "the movement" -- albeit with very few card-carrying members -- now encompasses AT LEAST 60% of the country. I'm as far to the right as it gets and I've never attended a TP rally nor have I ever written as much as a comment endorsing Palin. "The movement", as I subtly pointed out, is to wipe out the current regime by any means necessary. You are moistly malarkey (ie. all wet) on this subject due to your proximity to a great many life-long kommies who will continue to hate what they obviously can't understand...to the detriment of real progress and the advancement of THE PEOPLE's common sense involvement with government, as the Fathers envisioned. -ED]

[The left] is sooo afraid of the right. Yet once again it is the left which you have to watch out for. Today saw the firing of a TV reporter who mentioned that Obama had received more BP money than any candidate in history. He was told by his boss not to include that fact in his report. The reporter went on and did his job and was fired for insubordination. I think this was in Wash DC and shows the extent that the left will use their power to protect Obama.

You know as well as I do that the greatest deterrent to Obama's impeachment has been Biden, Pelosi and Reid.

After November 2nd, perhaps one or two or three of these deterrents will be removed. However, we must be diligent in vetting their replacements.

Yesterday the Senate passed a bill that: 1) reduces taxes on small businesses, and 2) takes steps to increase lending options for those same small businesses, since that's where most people are employed. The bill was fully paid for, and had been ready to implement since about June.

Yet the Republicans have been filibustering it. Why? Who knows - certainly not anyone who has a few functioning brain cells.

So yeah, by all means, let's turn the government back over to the clowns who got us into this mess, and are actively working to keep things messed up for their own political advantage.

Brilliant, eddo.

[The Big Wipeout would prove that 'those who have steadfastly refused to be a party to the yessing of Obama's carelessness, arrogance and incompetence' are the ones who Americans support -- whether it agrees with your progressive-socialist ideology or not.  Once again, in the 2+ years since we have been debating, I have become a virtual main-streamer while you continue to be a kornfield kommie out standing in his field, as the old expression goes. You've read enough eddobloggo to know that I have predicted that this would happen over and over again, yet you still believe I'm wrong.  Keep believing that -- it's obviously good for our side to have guys like you around for illustrative purposes. You are quite right that it works to our political advantage. -ED]

If a crime has been committed he should answer for it, as should anyone, if it ever comes to that I look forward to watching the case unfold, should be a media circus. I'm sure all this infighting in our current political system makes us the envy of the world.

I liked this blog...it obviously struck lots of nerves of those on the left. It amazes me that Obama still has an approval rating as high as 47%. What will it take to wake some people out of their Obama stupor?

Small business won't begin borrowing until they start to feel more confident that the economy is in full recovery. This is a confidence issue. They won't go into debt just because its now a little cheaper to do so unless they see an upswing in customer flow.

Guy_Fawkes_Lives

Des Moines, IA Register

[For good reason, small business currently has no confidence in the people who have power over the economy. In fact they feel, after seeing how much time and money has been wasted, that things can only get worse under these corrupt taxers and spenders.  The Big Wipeout will change their confidence level immediately, which is the first step towards recovery. -ED]

...I suspect that if Clinton had been a Republican, Congress would have pressured him to resign rather than embarrass himself, his family, Congress and his party. And, he probably would have. Clinton should have resigned.

We'll never know...but the very fact that the Congress was Republican and Clinton a Democrat automatically qualifies it for politically motivated...

WOW Ed a real "Bazinga". You are stirring a pot heated by volatile fuels.

Many lefties don't get the purge your own house then purge the others game plan. As cronies of Government largess they love the purveyors of generational theft and don’t get the angst over spending. Tea “Drinkers” are mostly conservatives, that is a given, however some are Dems and many are independents. They will be bane of lefties in elections no mater the Party. They will not be adding another “party” to the list of choices on the ballot. Lefties are caught in a bigoted trap “if Tea Party people are racists (conventional lefty propaganda) they must be stupid too, and will split the conservative vote”; big mistake. Lefties in both Parties are at risk. Every day more and more Americans learn what needs to be done. Your impeach and hang em all approach may be a bit overdone however, but it sure as Hades is fun.

Well, since you never mentioned specifically what exactly President Obama and Vice President Biden could possibly impeached for, this is more of the same-old same-old I've come to expect: the politics of FEAR MONGERING.

[My own hypothetical scenario and bullet points aside, start with a few of these possible grounds for impeachment... -ED]

  • Obama's violations of federal campaign and ethics laws, including the offers from his administration to Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, who reported he was offered a high-ranking government job to drop his opposition in the Pennsylvania Senate primary to sitting Sen. Arlen Specter.

  • Obama's effort "to persuade the [Illinois] governor" to fill the vacated Senate seat with his longtime adviser Valerie Jarrett.

  • Suggestions from Obama's own Federal Election Commission documentation that he got at least $33.8 million for his campaign from disallowed foreign contributions, including 520 contributions from interests in Iran as well as $30,000 from the Hamas-controlled Gaza area.

  • Obama's administration's decision to drop a case that prosecutors already had won against thugs who were seen on video apparently intimidating voters during the 2008 election.

  • Obama fired an inspector general, Gerald Walpin, after he exposed corruption linked to one of Obama's buddies, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson.

  • The president's system of rewarding supporters has come under question. The report confirms more than 70 individuals who raised $50,000 or more for Obama have been rewarded with ambassadorships or high ranking jobs.

18 USC 871, makes it a Federal crime or offense for anyone to willfully make a true threat to injure or kill the President of the United States.
